NMCLE Exam Overview

In order to maintain the Standard quality of practicing doctors in Nepal, Every doctors after completion of M.B.B.S. and Post graduate MD/MS degree , has to appear for Nepal Medical Council Licencing Examination and Nepal Medical Council Post Graduate Special Licencing examination respectively as per the rule and regulations of NMC.
Only After successful completion of Nepal Medical Council Licencing Examination,NMCLE , One can Practice as a Physician ( Medical Doctor ) in Nepal under NMC act. where as to practice as an specialist medical practitioner one must has to go through Nepal Medical Council Special Licencing Examination.

Frequency of Exam :

  • Every 3 Months (Four times  in a Year)


Pattern of Questions
:

  • MCQs & Comprehensive Case Type of Questions

Total Number of Questions :

  • 180 questions( 130 MCQs from different Basic and Clinical Subjects + 10 Comprehensive type of Questions.
  • Comprehensive Question Answer is a question of identification of scenario of Clinical Diagnosis and related to it, and each Comprehensive question if further divided into 5 MCQ questions.

Marks allocation :
Each Questions carrying single marks .
Among 10 comprehensive questions each question carries 5 marks ,
so total 50 marks from comprehensive questions and total 130 marks from MCQs Questions
No Negative Marking system
Total Marks: 180 marks
Pass Mark: 50% i.e. 90
Time Allocated : total 3 Hours
