A PHC Supervisor (M/F) 
For Nepal based in Kathmandu with frequent travel in Sindhupalchowk 
MdM currently works in 46 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises and conflicts.
MDM has been working in Nepal since 1995 and is currently implementing a project in Sindhupalchowk District that aims at providing relief to populations affected by the earthquake.
Under the close supervision and guidance of the ERRP Medical Doctor, the PHC Supervisor will focus on the Emergency Referral System of MDM, outbreak investigation and intervention, technical support on teh rehabilitation and refurbishments of the 23 health posts and 2 PHCCs in Sinhdupalchok, lead in the preparation for the identified capacity building activities for the health workers and community leaders from MDM’s focused VDCs, and to participate in the coordination at the community and field level.
TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
Under the close supervision and guidance of the ERRP Medical Doctor, the PHC Supervisor will focus on the Emergency Referral System of MDM, outbreak investigation and intervention, technical support on teh rehabilitation and refurbishments of the 23 health posts and 2 PHCCs in Sinhdupalchok, lead in the preparation for the identified capacity building activities for the health workers and community leaders from MDM’s focused VDCs, and to participate in the coordination at the community and field level.
DETAILED ACTIVITIES

  • To provide guidance and support in the implementation of activities that will help enhance the activities prioritized to support the 23 focused health posts and the 2 PHCCs in Sinhdupalchok district.
  • Be the focal person for the Emergency Referral System at the mobile clinic sites and to some of the focused health posts and PHCCs and make necessary follow-ups at the referral hospitals and getting feedback once these patients returned back to their VDCs in Sinhdupalchok.
  • In connection with the rehabilitation and refurbishments of the 23 damaged health posts and the 2 PHCCs, provide support to the expat ERRP Doctor in providing periodic evaluation and provide advises to the Logistic Team.
  • Provide direct support in implementing the necessary trainings for the health workers and with the focused communities on enhancing their capacity in emergency response and on preventive/curative care.
  • Be responsible for the Outbreak Investigation and Intervention of MDM via land of air, in partnership with the DHO and with Solidarite, working with another MDM medical staff to complete the MDM OII Team.
  • Provide regular weekly reports on the updates, challenges and future planning on the PHC activities within the scope of MDM’s priority.
  • Ensure the coordination with local partners and also within the MDM medical team like with Mental Health, SRH and SGBV.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Starting: As Soon As Possible
  • Contract: Employee With fixed term contract (2 months, renewable) / Full time
  • Based in MDM office in Kathmandu  with frequent travel in Sindhupalchowk areas

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • You are committed to MdM values as an organization and motivated by its non-statutory, NFP model.
  • A registered medical doctor or a senior nurse with minimum of 3 years expériences in public health and/or primary health care
  • Experience of working with a health NGO will be an asset.
  • Has managerial / supervisory experiences in the implementation of the core public health programs of the MOHP like EPI , communicable and non –communicable diseases, among others.
  • With experiences in providing training to health workers
  • Computer literate, can easily work well with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Work as team player and has flexibility in his/her work.
  • Has patience, diplomacy, flexibility, adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
  • has good experiences in both curative care and disease prevention.
  • Languages: Nepali, English
